Dr. Jing Lei is currently Assistant Professor of Anthropology at State University of New York at Oswego (SUNY-Oswego). She is a graduate of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, where shereceived her Bachelor of Arts in English. She received her Master Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology from State University of New York at Albany (SUNY-Albany).

Dr. Jing Lei has specialized in second language acquisition, bilingualism, and language ideologies in an era of globalization. Much of her research has taken the form of ethnographic and sociolinguistic studies of families, communities, and schools for the Chinese Diaspora in the United States and English-learning students in China, working on the interplay of identity construction and language learning.
